Whistle Sports was named the most followed and one of the Top 10 most valuable sports media brands in July by Shareablee Inc., a social media benchmarking and audience analysis firm. Whistle Sports joins ESPN, and is followed by Bleacher Report, Fox Sports, The Enthusiast Network LLC., Time Warner, Inc., Comcast Corp., CBS Corp., Al Jazeera Media Group and the PGA Tour.
“Whistle Sports was the most-engaged sports media brand on YouTube with 4.2 million actions. It also led the category in video engagement on Facebook with more than 10 million actions,” according to Shareablee Inc.
Overall, the Top 10 properties reflect 392.3 million actions on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Additionally, video accounted for 40 percent of all social engagements, which was up from 28 percent in June. According to the “Whistle Sports Game Time Report Volume 1: Millennial Sports Fans Are Changing the Game,” a research report released by the network, social sports influencers are uploading nearly 2 posts every minute, driving over 1.3 billion minutes of watch time and nearly 100 million engagements (likes, comments, shares) per month.
This is the first month that Shareablee included Whistle Sports in its monthly metrics, which explains why the “change since last month” is listed as zero. The Whistle Sports network continues to gain fans and followers across social platforms at a rate of more than three million a week.
